The Chuluut river: rises in Egiin davaa of the Khangai mountain range and flows for 415 kms/258 miles north to join the Ider river. The Chuluut river flows through a sheer basalt canyon which extends 100 kilometers from the mouth of the Teel River to the Atsat. The basalt is formed of Lava of nearby extinct volcanoes such as; Khorgo volcano and others. The river is 15-30 meters wide, 3 meters deep covers 10750 square kilometers and the speed of stream is 2 m/sec. Many Lakes and rivers feed to the Chuluut river such as; Ikh jargalant, Khuremt, Tuul, Ajirga, Khangal, Bumbat, Ulziit, Murun, Uujim, Daaga, Atsat, Teel and Suman etc. The Chuluut river is rich in Fish such as Taimen, Pike, Mirror Carp, River Perch, Amur, Cat fishing and Burbot.
